Pastor
Michael K. Neely was born in Laurens, SC to Lawrence
and Marie Neely. He is the 8th
of 10 children, (6 boys and 4 girls). He
attended
the public school system in Laurens County and
graduated from Laurens District 55 High School in
1974. Pastor Neely entered the Armed Forces of
the United States in 1975 where he was an Avionics
Mechanic. Upon separation from the Army in
1977, Pastor Neely worked at several occupations,
which included Laurens Mills, the Commission of
Public Works, Laurens 1st
Baptist Church and Wal-Mart Distribution Center.
In the latter part of 1990,
Pastor Neely felt a strong urge and compulsion and
“CALL” from God to preach the word. He was
licensed to preach the gospel at Bethel AME Church,
Laurens, SC. He served the church under the
guidance and tutelage of the Reverend Robert Freeman
and the Reverend Dolphus Smith. In 1991 Pastor
Neely was appointed to his first pastoral charge,
St. Mary, Greenville. Pastor Neely’s other
pastoral responsibilities included the
Waterloo/Mountville charge, St. Paul, Abbeville, St.
Matthew, Newberry, St. Peter, Jenkinsville and
St. James, Lugoff. In October 2005 Pastor
Neely was appointed to St. Paul-Shaw as pastor.
In an effort to prepare
himself for service in the Kingdom of God and after
20 years, Pastor Neely entered the University of
South Carolina in 1994 and graduated with an
Associate of Arts (1997), Associate of Science
(1998) and Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary
Studies with a concentration in Religion and the
Humanities (2000). In August 2000, Pastor
Neely entered Erskine Theological Seminary and
graduated in 2003 with a Masters of Divinity.
Pastor Neely believes that one must give
himself/herself
a chance to be all that God has called him/her to
be.
Pastor
Neely served the AME Church and community in
different capacities, including the Committee on
Ministerial Orders, Lancaster District; Board of
Examiners, Columbia Conference; Finance Committee,
Lancaster District and Columbia Conference; Board of
Christian Education, Lancaster District and
Instructor for the Board of Christian Education, 7th
Episcopal District.
In
September 2007, Pastor Neely accepted a long time
call on his life from God to start a Ministry.
Therefore, Pastor Neely stepped out on faith and New
Fellowship Covenant (NFC) Ministries was birth in
October of 2007. NFC’s motto is “Worship
Without Walls.”
Pastor
Neely takes pride in teaching and preaching God’s
word. It is his belief that an informed people
will be better equipped to win others to the Kingdom
of God. Therefore, it is his wish that all
will come to know Jesus for themselves. Pastor Neely

Pastor
Neely is married to the former Toronca DeVore Davis.
This union has been blessed with two children, a
daughter Myka Kei and a son James Lawrence.
